Academia International de Cabrera has kicked off its 1st Annual Scholarship Support Campaign. The campaign has been initiated to cover school costs of the students who have received a scholarship to attend AIC. This is our first annual support campaign and as you will see below our needs are great, we need your help.
The children of Cabrera are all very eager to learn and their families want to take advantage of AIC’s English Language Immersion program, our small class sizes (12 students per classroom) and the full day offered for the quality education that Academia International de Cabrera (AIC) has to offer. AIC has enthusiastic teachers, great classroom atmosphere and plenty of school spirit, but unfortunately many of the families of Cabrera who would love for their children to attend AIC do not have the means necessary to cover the basic costs of receiving AIC’s quality education.
This school year AIC’s student population has increased from 31 children (August 2009) to 74 children (December 2009), of which 43 children have received full or partial scholarships. Although this is a benefit to the children and their families of Cabrera, AIC must still cover costs of Teacher salaries (AIC Teachers earn no more than $500.00 per month, while one teacher volunteers her time), support staff salaries, staff insurance, student and school materials and supplies, utilities, etc.
The following is an overview of the money needed to cover the costs for each child or the entire classroom which will help sustain the school for the rest of 2009/10 school year. What can you do to help educate the children of Cabrera???
