Academics

English Language

AIC offers the most effective and affordable English language program on the North Coast. All core subjects, including math and science, are taught in English by native English speakers.

Full-day Schedule

Students (grades 1-8) attend school from 8:45 a.m. 3:30 p.m. This allows AIC to meet and exceed all educational requirement s of the Dominican Republic, and provide the highest-quality education on the North Coast.

Computer Skills

AIC teachers integrate computer and Internet-based materials in their lessons. Students have access to computers for research, communication and the creation of projects.

Curriculum and Instruction

The AIC follows all standards and requirements of the Dominican Secretary of Education. However, it is our goal to establish innovative curriculum and program, incorporating project-based skills, technology, environmental responsibility and a strong emphasis on bilingual skills which expands to meet upward growth of the student body. The methods of instruction are more diverse and student-centered. Students gain critical thinking skills through Project Based Learning‚ an instructional method that encourages learners to identify problems, research possible solutions and work together to solve real-world challenges. AIC students are more engaged and take responsibility for their own learning.

Community Involvement

Students are also introduced to important community services by visits to local facilities, the city council offices, police station, fire station, hospital, civil defense center etc., where the importance of these facilities can be explained first hand and the benefits they provide to the community as a whole can be understood. Students are also encouraged to take pride in themselves, their school and their town and actively participate in activities that give back to the community thereby developing into positive role models and promising leaders of the future.
